Simple Sifter Setup Guide
Card Scanning

Last updated: June 6, 2026Simple Sifter setup is straightforward:
- Flash the Simple Sifter image onto an SD card (following the setup tutorial - the link is in the sidebar under scanning > simple sifter > guide)
- Insert the SD card into your Raspberry Pi (Pi 4 or Pi 5 supported)
- Connect your Fujitsu scanner via USB
- Log in
The auto-updating image keeps everything current, so there is zero reconfiguration needed after restarts. All settings are saved automatically per scanner.
Required hardware:
- Raspberry Pi 4 or Pi 5 (Pi 5 recommended)
- Pi Power Cable with power switch
- Pi SD Card
- Fujitsu document scanner (Ricoh/Fujitsu fi-8170 recommended)
