Store credit is a customer balance that can be applied to purchases at checkout. Customers earn it from returns, refunds, promotions, or manual credits added by staff.
Store credit works as a prepaid balance tied to a customer. It can be used as full or partial payment on orders. All transactions (additions, deductions, refunds) are tracked with timestamps and notes for audit and customer support.
SortSwift maintains store credit locally and, when Shopify integration is active, syncs with Shopify Store Credit Accounts. Balances can be batch-fetched from Shopify or pushed from SortSwift to Shopify. This keeps in-store and online credit consistent.
Store credit is linked to customer records (name, email, phone, tags, notes). You can create customers manually or sync with Shopify. Balance inquiries and searches help you find customers and view their credit quickly.
