Accessing Sign-Up

How to access the sign-up page:

1. Navigate to /auth/sign-up
2. Or click "Sign Up" button from the sign-in page
3. You'll see the SortSwift logo and "Get started" heading
4. The sign-up form appears below

Required Fields

All fields are required to create an account:

• First Name: Your first name (max 255 characters)
• Last Name: Your last name (max 255 characters)
• Username: Unique username for your account (max 255 characters)
• Email Address: Valid email address (max 255 characters, must be valid email format)
• Password: Secure password (minimum 12 characters, max 255 characters)
• Confirm Password: Must match your password exactly

Password Requirements

Password must meet these requirements:

• Minimum Length: At least 12 characters
• Maximum Length: Up to 255 characters
• Match Confirmation: Password and confirm password must match exactly
• Security: Use a strong, unique password for better security

Sign-Up Process

Complete the sign-up form:

1. Fill in all required fields (First Name, Last Name, Username, Email, Password, Confirm Password)
2. Review field validation errors if any appear
3. Ensure password meets requirements (12+ characters)
4. Verify passwords match in both fields
5. Click "Sign Up" button
6. Wait for account creation (processing indicator shown)
7. If successful, confirmation dialog appears
8. Check your email for verification link

Form Validation

Real-time validation feedback:

• Required Fields: Red error message appears if field is empty
• Email Format: Validates email format (must contain @ and valid domain)
• Password Length: Shows error if password is less than 12 characters
• Password Match: Shows error if passwords don't match
• Field Length: Maximum character limits enforced (255 for text fields)
• Error Display: Errors appear below each field in red text

After Sign-Up

What happens after successful sign-up:

1. Success dialog appears confirming account creation
2. Verification email sent to your email address
3. Email contains verification link with unique code
4. Click verification link in email to verify account
5. After verification, you can sign in to your account
6. If redirecting to scanner, you'll be redirected to scanner.sortswift.com
7. Otherwise, you'll be redirected to sign-in page

Common Errors

Common sign-up issues and solutions:

• Username Already Exists: Choose a different username
• Email Already Registered: Use "Forgot Password" if you own the account, or use different email
• Weak Password: Ensure password is 12+ characters
• Passwords Don't Match: Re-enter password and confirm password to match
• Invalid Email Format: Ensure email contains @ symbol and valid domain
• Network Errors: Check internet connection and try again
