Core Concepts to Know

These concepts appear throughout SortSwift documentation. Make sure your team shares a common vocabulary so workflows stay consistent.

Inventory Concepts

  • Inventory Item: A single product record that stores all conditions, prices, and sync settings.
  • Stock Entry: Condition-specific row inside an item (e.g., NM Foil vs. LP Non-Foil).
  • Staging: A holding area where new items are reviewed before they reach live inventory.
  • Sync Status: Indicates whether the item is ready to publish, successfully synced, or needs attention.
  • Audit Trail: Timestamped log of every change for compliance and accountability.

Workflow Concepts

  • Source: The origin of the item (Buylist, CSV Import, POS, Manual add).
  • Ownership: Which store location or channel is responsible for the stock.
  • Publishing: The act of pushing inventory live to web storefronts or marketplaces.
  • Repricing: Updating list price based on rules, market data, or manual edits.
