Core Concepts to Know
These concepts appear throughout SortSwift documentation. Make sure your team shares a common vocabulary so workflows stay consistent.
Inventory Concepts
- Inventory Item: A single product record that stores all conditions, prices, and sync settings.
- Stock Entry: Condition-specific row inside an item (e.g., NM Foil vs. LP Non-Foil).
- Staging: A holding area where new items are reviewed before they reach live inventory.
- Sync Status: Indicates whether the item is ready to publish, successfully synced, or needs attention.
- Audit Trail: Timestamped log of every change for compliance and accountability.
Workflow Concepts
- Source: The origin of the item (Buylist, CSV Import, POS, Manual add).
- Ownership: Which store location or channel is responsible for the stock.
- Publishing: The act of pushing inventory live to web storefronts or marketplaces.
- Repricing: Updating list price based on rules, market data, or manual edits.
